Outdoor Individual Occupational Therapy
Does your child…
have difficulty with motor coordination or balance?
become overwhelmed easily at school or in community settings?
need more movement and activity than other children?
have difficulty paying attention?
withdraw or become upset with certain sensory experiences such as noises, touch, or movement?
As a parent, it can be very difficult to see your child struggle to learn skills that seem to come easily to other children. At Forestways OT, we are here to help you uncover the underlying challenges impacting your child’s participation in their daily occupations of play, leisure, social interaction, education, and activities of daily living. We provide comprehensive evaluation and work together with families to establish goals and provide ongoing collaboration to make a real-life impact for your child beyond the therapy session.
Outdoor Occupational Therapy Groups
Outdoor occupational therapy small groups focus on social skills, motor skills, and sensory health utilizing the ConTiGO Approach (Connection & Transformation in the Great Outdoors) developed by Dr. Laura Park Figueroa of Outdoor Kids OT. Groups include: individualized child goals, skilled therapeutic services, nature connection activities, social skill development, extended therapy time, and supported free play in an outdoor setting. Activities may include hiking, crafts, snacks, and games.
Groups are led by an occupational therapist trained in the ConTiGo Approach and at least 1 additional adult with 3-6 children per group. Priority is given to current Forestways OT clients for group registration.
